Goodix Technology announced that its new generation NFC+eSE security solution has achieved the prestigious SOGIS CC EAL 6+ certificate. This makes it the first solution in China to reach the highest security level among similar products.

With this milestone, Goodix is set to power the widespread adoption of secure applications in smart devices, becoming the “core” engine behind world-class security protection.

Compared to the SOGIS CC EAL 5+, the EAL 6+ certificate involves more rigorous testing standards, a longer evaluation process, and additional assessments, including evaluating the complexity of the chip’s code and formal verification of its security policy models.

These enhancements result in a more comprehensive and in-depth evaluation of the chip’s security. Despite the stringent global certification requirements, Goodix leveraged its robust design capabilities and advanced security vulnerable analysis expertise to achieve this prestigious certification efficiently.

The globally famous security evaluation laboratory SGS Brightsight conducted the security assessment. Kai-Fan Chang, COO Asia at SGS Brightsight said: “This evaluation verified the product’s compliance with Evaluation Assurance Level EAL6+ under the NSCIB Common Criteria (CC) methodology. We are pleased to have worked with Goodix to reach this milestone together. SGS Brightsight has long promoted the development of security chip testing technology in the Asia-Pacific region. We believe that Goodix’s leading security solutions will continuously inject new momentum into innovation and progress in the security field.”

The new generation NFC+eSE security solution is the first security product in China, which certifies a more comprehensive set of algorithms, including AES, TDES, RSA, ECC, X25519, SHA256, HMAC, KDF etc., providing rock-solid hardware support for global security applications such as CCC digital car keys, Google StrongBox, and eSIM. The solution also earned top certifications in China, including OSCCA L2, the highest commercial cryptography grade in China, and NFTC (National Financial Technology Certification).

Currently, this security solution has achieved commercial mass production. The rich product features and multiple certifications further demonstrate Goodix’s market competitiveness in the security field, bringing a more comprehensive and robust security solution to smart devices.

“Obtaining the CC EAL 6+ certificate demonstrates Goodix’s ultimate pursuit of exceptional performance in security products,” said Sandy Hu, the President of Goodix Technology. “We will continue to dedicate to developing differentiated security solutions, driving the future of emerging applications, and building an unbreakable fortress of data protection for consumers around the world.”
