Power management company Eaton launched new transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode ESD protection devices to provide highly reliable protection for electronics against very fast and damaging voltage transients, such as electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrically fast transients and induced lightning.
Transient voltages and ESD are typical problems that impact the reliability and durability of electronic equipment. TVS diodes provide surge protection to protect internal electronics from damage.
Eaton TVS Diode ESD Suppressors are offered from 3.3 V up to 70 V and capacitances down to 0.08 pF. Multiple footprints are offered including many common diode package sizes that can provide up to 30 kV ESD withstand per IEC 61000-4-2 and 5000 W peak power dissipation on an 8/20 µs waveform without performance degradation.
“Circuit protection is a core technology for Eaton’s Electrical sector product portfolio. The extension of our TVS diode product line expands our technology offering with complementary overvoltage products to our existing overcurrent devices – fuses and PPTCs – and ESD suppressors,” said Nick Stone, global product manager for circuit protection at Eaton. “We look forward to supporting our customers with complete solutions for their circuit protection needs.”
Samples can be requested at Eaton.com/electronics or can be purchased through authorized distributors.
